4 Fisherman’s Square
It’s one of a very select few period fishermen’s cottages in the area that has its own terrace overlooking the working fishing harbour, which makes it extremely special. The client brief was to sensitively restore and extend this stunning, one in a million, waterfront property.
It was a complex refurbishment, given the space available and listing of the cottage, but planning permission for a two storey rear extension, which almost doubled the size of the original cottage, was secured and designed by Cornwall Planning Group.
“I have used Cornwall Planning Group on a number of projects. CPG did a great job in getting this through planning and it really is a fantastic design for such a small, tricky access site.
Always a very professional service from start to finish and this project also featured in the Sunday Times national newspaper.”– Tom Patrick.
The cottage now provides two opulent bedrooms with vaulted ceilings, two incredible bathrooms, one with freestanding copper bathtub, contemporary kitchen/dining room with glazed roof lantern allowing light to flood in and the ground floor of the original cottage is now one, gorgeous lounge looking out to sea. Although the cottage only has two bedrooms, it still invited offers over the £1,000,000 mark – we told you it was special!
We also provided the building regulations, as we do on the vast majority of our planning applications and we are very proud to have been involved on this of this project, which has been and will be frozen in time, albeit sympathetically and wonderfully enhanced, for many years to come.
